Several questions are now being asked about the record of the new coach who is favoured to lead the Super Eagles and who was recommended by Jose Mourinho, Jose Peseiro.
Portuguese coach Peseiro is reported to now be the man to head the Super Eagles with some reports even suggesting that he will fly into Abuja accompanied by Mourinho to finalise his appointment.
However, checks have shown that the coach has only a game in 10 for his immediate past team Venezuela.
His record also showed he is a nomadic coach, whose track record includes brief stints with Portuguese clubs Sporting Lisbon, Sporting Braga as well as FC Porto.
The 61-year-old Peseiro has also handled Saudi Arabia and was between 2003 and 2004 assistant coach of mighty Real Madrid.
Last month, he made headline news when he announced that Venezuela have finally paid him the 14 months’ salary they owed him.
He will be expected to be an “observer” at the 2021 AFCON in Cameroon, before he takes full control of the Eagles from caretaker coach Austin Eguavoen for the final 2022 World Cup playoffs.
