Senator representing Abia North, Sen. Orji Uzor Kalu has congratulated the Director of ABN TV, a leading online news medium in Nigeria, Mr. Ifeanyi Okali as he marks birthday today, saying he stands tall in the professional discharge of his duty. According to Sen. Kalu who is also Chief Whip of the Senate, at a time when the online medium has largely become an avenue to blackmail and malign, Mr. Okali has used his platform to promote professionalism and responsible reportage, saying he is worth emulating. In a birthday message he personally endorsed on Saturday, the former Abia governor noted that Mr. Okali has used his platform to give voice to communities, the weak and downtrodden across Abia and beyond, adding that this has fostered peace and development of the people.
“I’m delighted to celebrate Mr. Ifeanyi, a young man who has redefined online publishing by giving it a perfect touch of professionalism and responsibility. He insulates himself from paparazzi, sensationalism, and blackmail which many other online news platforms are known for.
At a time when the quest to grow entrepreneurs rather than job seekers is heightened, Mr. Ifeanyi is a perfect reminder of such advocacy, who has not only defied the odds but have taken others out of labour market. “As someone, I have known for several years, he puts his job ahead of any pecuniary gain and ensures excellent service delivery. Always responsive and eager to make any sacrifice, such spirit is indeed needed by our young men to make it far in their life journey. “I congratulate you for being examplary and pray that this birthday will usher in lots of open doors in your personal, family, and business life. “On behalf of myself and family I celebrate you,” Sen. Kalu said.
